Stop the Beach Renourishment to reject the challenge by private homeowners, uphold the constitutionality of Florida’s beach management program, and hold that the beach belongs to the public after beach renourishment has occurred.

On Wednesday BP instituted a plan called "top kill", pumping mud into the Gulf of Mexico oil leak. Early estimates of the procedure are said to be working, but it's not guaranteed. Last week an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico exploded and sank, killing eleven oil rig workers. The oil rig, which is leased to BP, has spilled more than 5,000 barrels of oil into the Gulf of Mexico and the Coast Guard and BP have been working to corral the oil.
