Lights, cameras, action! That was the theme of the night at Seaside Reef yesterday as Nike lit up San Diego's most shreddable surf spot as a part of their "Chosen" tour.

The inaugural ASP 4-Star Rob Machado Seaside Pro Junior presented by Hurley, Reef and Whole Foods Market is slated to host America’s top male and female under-21 surfing talent at San Diego county’s Seaside Reef on April 22 and 23, 2011 and will play a vital role in surfers’ qualification campaigns for the 2011 ASP World Junior Tour.

Laguna Beach's Nathan Zoller took the victory at Seaside Reef yesterday while pro snowboarder Shayne Pospisil takes the overall lead of the 2011 Ultimate Boarder heading into the final leg (skate vert/mini ramp), which takes place this Saturday at the south end of the Seaside Reef parking lot.

The Blowfish Surf Series has always had a huge crowd of competitors, and with this being the last event of the season, nothing could prepare us for the tornado that was coming. After postponing the event on Saturday due to crazy weather and flat surf we showed up bright and early Sunday to waves being a playful 3-4 feet and ready to get this party started.

The Rob Machado Seaside Pro Junior presented by Reef and Hurley is now the only ASP Pro Junior 4-star competition in San Diego. The event, which will commence at Seaside Reef on April 22-23, 2011, will also include a Super Hero’s themed charity golf tournament at The Crossing at Carlsbad on Monday, April 18, 2011.
