SANTA CRUZ, California (Sunday, October 26, 2008) – Mason Ho (North Shore, HI), 20, won the Oakley Pro Junior ASP North America Championships, an ASP Grade-3 event, in four-to-six foot (2 metre) surf at Santa Cruz’s coveted Steamer Lane this afternoon by posting the highest heat total of the event.

Santa Cruz, Calif., October 24, 2008 – Day Four of the O’Neill Cold Water Classic saw Nat Young (Santa Cruz, CA), 17, lead the battle of the locals in his stacked heat against fellow Santa Cruz standouts Jason Collins (Santa Cruz, CA), 34, who advanced in second, and former two-time event finalist Josh Loya (Santa Cruz, CA), 39.
SANTA CRUZ, California (Thursday, October 23, 2008) – Day Three of the O’Neill Cold Water Classic, an Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World Qualifying Series (WQS) 4-Star event, saw Hawaiian standout Sebastian Zietz (Kilauea, HI), 20, stamp the day’s top honors by claiming both the highest single wave score and highest heat total of the event so far
Local surfer Bud Freitas (Santa Cruz, CA), 24, earned the day’s highest heat total of 16.90 with explosive surfing in front of his home crowd, while Australia’s Jayke Sharp (Coffs Harbor, AUS), 20, posted the event’s highest single wave score in Round 2. Granger Larson (Lahaina, HI), 18, advanced through two heats today and won his Round 3 heat in convincing fashion.
John John Florence (Haleiwa, HI), who just turned 16 on Saturday, will be celebrating in Santa Cruz a birthday and a wildcard into the event.
