A record breaking total of 276 junior competitors from 27 nations and their coaches, managers and fans colored the streets of Lima’s Parque de las Aguas with their national flags.

With solid eight-foot waves breaking in Punta Hermosa, and a heavy crowd of the world-best junior surfers, delegations from around the globe are assembling for the preeminent Under 18 surfing tournament.

The Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championship is the biggest surfing event in the world for under-18 surfers, considering the surfing level, amount of competitors and participating countries. It is the pinnacle of the career of every junior surfer around the planet.

Surfers from the four corners of the globe will gather together to represent their home countries on the international stage for an International Olympic Committee-recognized competition.
