The opening day of the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) 4-Star Vans Pier Classic presented by Jack’s Surfboards saw ASP World Tour talent Josh Kerr (AUS), 26, ignite the day’s top scores in the peaky three foot (1 metre) surf at Huntington Beach Pier today to headline an impressive first day of action.
The Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) PRIME US Open of Surfing presented by Hurley and Nike 6.0 narrowed the impressive field originally slated in the premier event down to 16 competitors in peaky one-to-three foot (1 metre) surf at South Huntington Beach Pier with ASP Dream Tour rookie Jadson Andre (BRA), 20, leading the way.
The 2010 US Open of Surfing is a marathon event that not only includes competitors from the Men’s ASP PRIME and Women’s ASP 6-Star event seeking ratings points to qualify for the prestigious ASP Dream Tour, but also holds the ASP Grade-2 US Open Junior Pro, which will showcase the nation’s finest men's and women's ASP Pro Junior talent hunting for a position of the inaugural ASP World Junior Tour.

Dylan Goodale (Kauai, HI), 19, won the Vans Pier Classic to take out his first career ASP WQS victory while ringing in his 19th birthday. Kolohe Andino (San Clemente, CA), 16, clinched his inaugural ASP Pro Junior win by clinching the Ezekiel Pro Junior.
