The 2010 NSSA National Championships saw some of the country’s finest up-and-coming talent battle through Open Men’s Round 1 at South Huntington Beach Pier today, with East Coaster Evan Geiselman, 16, Conner Coffin, 16, and Luke Davis, 17, posting some of the day’s highest scores.

Dylan Goodale (Kauai, HI), 19, won the Vans Pier Classic to take out his first career ASP WQS victory while ringing in his 19th birthday. Kolohe Andino (San Clemente, CA), 16, clinched his inaugural ASP Pro Junior win by clinching the Ezekiel Pro Junior.

The opening day of the Katin Pro-Am Team Challenge presented by Primo, an Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) North America Specialty event, was graced with pumping six-to-eight foot (2-2.5 metre) surf at North Huntington Beach Pier today and saw Nick Rozsa (Oxnard, CA), 22, lead the front for team Reef.
