Chelsea Hedges (AUS), 26, former ASP Women’s World Champion (2005), was in sizzling form this afternoon, posting an impressive 16.60 out of a possible 20 to dispatch of 2009 ASP World Runner-Up Silvana Lima (BRA), 25, in their Quarterfinal bout.
The remaining four heats of Round 3 of the Roxy Pro Gold Coast, the opening event of the ASP Women’s World Tour, have been called on this morning, with the first heat hitting the three-to-four foot (1 metre) waves at Snapper Rocks at 7:30am.

Signs detailing the international Surfers' Code have been erected at the Gold Coast's most popular breaks in a bid to combat surf rage. An initiative of the Gold Coast City Council, Surfing Queensland and the Surfrider Foundation, the surfboard-shaped signs read 'Give respect to gain respect' and detail the do's and dont's of riding the waves.
