The Quiksilver Pro Portugal and Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) sanctioned Men’s Star Series event witnessed an overnight increase in swell allowing for a great day of competitive surfing at the legendary point break of Ribeira D’Ilhas.
Charles Martin has won the ASP Grade-2 Oakley Pro Junior Lacanau today after defeating Hossegor native Pierre-Valentin Laborde in the 30-minute final in consistent three-foot waves.
Charles Martin (GLP), 18, won the ASP Grade-3 Santa Surf Pro Junior in Tenerife today after defeating fellow finalist Frederico Morais (PRT) in the last Man-on-man battle of the 2009 ASP European Junior tour.
Pauline Ado (Hendaye, FRA), 18, and Charles Martin (GLP), 18, have won the ASP Grade-2 Oakley Pro Junior today in France, respectively in the men’s and women’s division and Johanne Defay (REU), 15, became the youngest surfer to claim the ASP European Women’s Junior title after placing 3rd.
