A second consecutive lay-day has been called for the Billabong ASP World Junior Championships fueled by Monster Energy will small two-to-three foot surf (.5 metre) on offer and a promising well expected to deliver excellent conditions to North Narrabeen tomorrow.
Competition today will begin with the Women’s Semifinals before moving into the first nine heats of Men’s Round 3. The Billabong ASP Women’s World Junior Title will then be decided and the day will conclude with the back half of Men’s Round 3 action.
Miguel Pupo from Brazil leads the leads the best under 20 surfers in the world, while Tyler Wright does the same for the girls at day 1 of the ASP World Junior Championships currently going down at iconic North Narrabeen in Australia.
The Billabong ASP World Junior Championships marks the second and final stop on the inaugural ASP World Junior Tour, with the first event unfolding at the Oakley World Pro Junior in Bali.
Jack Freestone is well poised to become Australia's first ASP World Junior Champion in 10 years with the natural-footer ranked No.1 heading into the deciding event, the Billabong ASP World Junior Championships.

The Billabong ASP World Junior Championships fueled by Monster Energy are underway for what could be the final day of competition.
Maxime Huscenot shocked the world this afternoon when he took down event favorite Owen Wright. Left battling it out for the World Title are aforementioned Huscenot, Nat Young, Clay Marzo, Granger Larson, Stu Kennedy, Jadson Andre, Alejo Muniz, and Gabriel Medina. Check out the video and results.
This kid is the real deal, as today down in Oz at the Billabong ASP World Junior Championships the 16-year-old Brazilian posted a 19.57 in Round 3 (a 10 and a 9.57). With an increase in swell up to three-to-four foot (1.5 metre) on offer at North Narrabeen this morning, event organizers have called the Billabong ASP World Junior Championships fueled by Monday Energy ON for the day, with the men’s elimination Round 2 commencing at 7am.
Despite the small surf on offer, both the men and women junior surfers emphatically raised the bar in terms of high-performance surfing, unofficially announcing themselves as the future of the sport.
