Nic Muscroft (AUS), 26, won the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World Qualifying Series (WQS) 6-Star Prime Santa Surf Pro at Lanzarote today in the Canarian archipelago clinching valuable 3000 ratings' points that rocket him to No. 10 on the international ratings and increases his chances of qualifying for next year’s ASP World Tour.

It was a day of hope and patience at San Juan but the conditions never improved throughout the day. Surfers and officials eventually decided to give San Juan another chance and come back tomorrow Friday, October 17 at 7:30 a.m. (GMT+1) to possibly get Round 2 started.

The second day of the ASP World Qualifying Series (WQS) 6-Star Prime Santa Surf Pro saw Round 1 come to completion in decreasing wind-blown two foot (0.5 meter) waves at San Juan with seven heats only being held. With the forecast showing the arrival of a new swell from Friday with a good chance of seeing its first pulses from tomorrow afternoon, officials decided not to get Round 2 started and wait for better conditions to send the world's best qualifiers in the water.

Brazilian Simao Romao, 22 years old, leads the party on the crowded Arpoador beach during the last day of Oakley presents Rio Surf Pro International. He started the day breaking the score record of the first WQS in the Arpoador history.

Michel Bourez has not done worse than a 5th place in four events including in the Quiksilver Pro France where he defeated ASP World Tour No. 3 and No. 4, and jumps from No. 14 to No. 8 on the ASP World Qualifying Series (WQS) ratings.

Daniel Ross (Yamba, AUS), 25, won the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World Qualifying Series (WQS) 4-Star Ocean & Earth Pro pres. by La Caja de Canarias in pumping five to six foot (1.5 to 2 meter) waves at the world famous venue of El Confital today.

Conditions did not improve throughout the day and organisers and surfers agreed to call the second day of the ASP WQS 4-Star Ocean & Earth Pro pres. La Caja de Canarias off.

Nathan Yeomans (San Clemente, CA), 27, has claimed his third consecutive event title with a big win at the 2008 Oakley Newport Beach Pro over fellow finalists Dillon Perillo (Malibu, CA), 18, Travis Mellem (San Clemente, CA), 23, and Micah Byrne (Huntington Beach, CA), 26, in clean two-to-three foot (1 metre) waves at Newport Beach’s 56th Street.

The second day of the Oakley Newport Beach Pro saw standout surfing from Macy Mullen (Mililani, HI), 28, Brett Barley (Outer Banks, NC), 18 and Nat Young (Santa Cruz, CA), 17, in Round 3. Today’s top performers took advantage of the excellent two-to-four foot (1 metre) conditions on offer by posting the day’s top scores.

Congratulations go out to Tim Boal of France for a great win over fellow Frenchman Joan Duru at the ASP WQS 5-Star Rip Curl Pro in Zarautz on the Basque coast of Spain. Tim’s win has pushed his points to 11,888, which should be more than enough to see him qualify for the Dream Tour in 2009.

Tim Boal (Anglet, FRA), 25, won the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World Qualifying Series (WQS) 5-Star Rip Curl Pro Zarautz today, claiming valuable 2000 ratings' points after defeating Joan Duru (Hossegor, FRA), 19, in clean two to three foot (0.5 to 1 meter) waves in an unprecedent 100% French final.

On-shore winds and testing four to six foot (1.2 to 2 meter) waves were the setting on Day 4 of the Rip Curl Pro Zarautz and power surfers took control of the ASP World Qualifying Series (WQS) 5-Star event litteraly destroying the solid faces on offer.

William Cardoso (BRA), 22, won the ASP World Qualifying Series (WQS) 5-Star Movistar O'Neill Pantin Classic in three foot (one meter) waves defeating Michel Bourez (PYF) in the final man-on-man battle of the week winning 2000 valuable points counting for the international ratings.

Casey Brown (Kona, HI), 20, claimed a win at The inaugural Vans El Ponto Loco presented by Sun Diego today over Dillon Perillo (Malibu, CA), 18, Jason Collins (Santa Cruz, CA), 34 and Brad Ettinger (Huntington Beach, CA), 24, in one-to-three foot surf at Ponto Beach in Carlsbad, California.
