Arnette Pro Junior
By winning the Arnette Pro Junior, Santa Cruz, California's Nat Young has positioned himself well for a run at the ASP World Junior Championships in Australia…
The former 2008 USA National Scholastic Surfing Association champion always looked comfortable in the 0.5-1m surf held up by offshore winds and scored a 9-point ride by busting a big aerial on his way to total heat score of 16.9.
Arnette’s Junior Pro competition is staged at Surfest, the annual surfing event held in Newcastle from 11 – 12 March 2009. Some of the world’s top junior surfers will descend on Merewether Beach to battle the waves and win a slice of the $15,000 prize money – and a wildcard berth into the World Qualifying Mark Richards Pro event, also held at Surfest and with $37,000 up for grabs.
