Winter was a bitch to the Northeast this year. But the last week in New Jersey has seen a great change: the weather is starting to warm up, there's been a good run of swells, and there's now an extra hour of light. If anyone needed that extra hour it's surely guys in the Northeast...

With water temps in the 50s and the air a chilly 48 degrees, last Friday's swell in New Jersey was a harbinger of things to come...very cold things.

Dark Fall, Alex DePhillipo and Andrew Gessler’s film about the southern New Jersey surf community, took home both the Best Feature Film and Viewers Choice awards at the third annual New York Surf Film Festival (NYSFF). The festival was held last weekend, Sept. 24-26, at the Tribeca Cinemas in downtown Manhattan.
