With only 48 surfers remaining from the original 128-man field, today’s action should continue to heat up with a mass of ASP Dream Tour surfers combating the globe’s hottest up-and-comers for the 2010 6.0 Lowers Pro Title.

Gieselman relied on above-the-lip surfing to stamp his authority on the field with a variety of massive aerials on the steep Lowers lefthanders to take out a remarkable Quarterfinals heat victory over international prodigy Gabriel Medina (Maresias, BRA), 17, who was a Round 1 standout, and Hawaiian Granger Larsen (Lahaina, HI), 20.

A major contingent of next-generation athletes will also be on tap to challenge the world’s best both in the 6.0 Lowers Pro and associated Oakley Pro Junior.

Mainland America just completed its first Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World Qualifying Series (WQS) 6-Star PRIME event Sunday with the 6.0 Lowers Pro at the premier location of Lower Trestles in San Clemente, California.
