TODD HANNIGAN’S
SOPHOMORE DISC VOLUME 2: COURTSIDE FOR THE APOCALYPSE
DIGITAL RELEASE NOVEMBER 18
LOS ANGELES, CALIF. – Riding the wave of success from his solo debut and composing accolades, Ventura-based musician/producer/surfer Todd Hannigan readies Volume 2: Courtside For The Apocalypse, released in the U.S. digitally on November 18 on his own indie, Brotheryn Records and in Japan on November 19 through Surf Rock International.
Todd’s success at home and abroad can be credited to his life long passions: music, travel and surfing.
“With a voice that bears a striking resemblance to Nick Drake’s, Hannigan makes gentle tunes inspired by his travel up and down the coastlines of Australia, Indonesia, Ecuador and Africa.” - NPR’s “All Songs Considered”
On Volume 2: Courtside for the Apocalypse, you get an insider's look at Todd's experiences as he explores the world with a guitar in one hand and a surfboard in the other. Through these travels, Todd was inspired to write about love, culture and introspection. The title Courtside for the Apocalypse represents a symbolic call to action in the world arena, as opposed to being a courtside spectator.
To stay true to his message on Volume 2, Todd recently collaborated with fellow SoCal musician Mick Kelleher, at the request of the Surfrider Foundation, for a track titled “Surf Rider.” Named after the Surf Rider beach in Malibu, the song echoes their message - to raise awareness for the fight for clean water and beaches.
Over the years, Todd’s music has been featured in notable and award-winning surf films/documentaries including “Thicker Than Water” (title track featured on his debut Volume 1), “September Sessions,” “LIVE: a surfing and music experience,” the score for “Sliding Liberia” (“Best Soundtrack” at the Alma Surf Festival, Brazil), “Wave Riders” (“Audience Award” Dublin international Film Festival, Ireland) and co-producer/musical director for “Majini” (“Best Short Film” and “Best Experimental Film” at the New York Film Festival).
For the last eight years, Todd has owned and operated Brotheryn Studios in Ojai, California where he records his albums and film scores. In addition, Todd has recorded for notable artists such as Jack Johnson, Jon Swift, Escalera, Tristan Prettyman, Crosby Loggins, Colbie Caillat, and Kenny Loggins.
Todd will tour in support of Volume 2: Courtside For The Apocalypse in November. Visit http://www.toddhannigan.com for updates.
