I have a pretty much new 6'4″ Al Merrick Bobby Martinez edition that did nothing this season but collect dust and resentment towards me. It has sat diligently in my board rack patiently waiting and wondering “when lord, whens it gonna be my time!?” My other boards have been picking on it since it never gets any water time and thats just not fair. Is it really my fault that this board falls into an overlap between my other older boards and is just a little too big for me? I don’t think so and that is what I use to sleep at night and escape the pleading puppy dog look this board projects every time I walk by. Damn dirty guilt tripping surfboard!
Well enough is enough and this board needs to be set free so it can lacerate rails and destroy lips. Looking for a loving home that will take this board in and reveal in its unabashed awesomeness of foam, glass and sprinkling of magic mixed with panda souls. This board pairs well with dawn patrols, 5 o’clock shadows, heavy waves, flannel, domestic canned beer and mustaches.
This board was taken out into the water once and doesn’t even have a pressure dent on the deck! Hell the wax job is still pearly white! Also has a brand new B.Irons Dakine stomp pad and diamond tip nose guard. The only thing to mar this beauty is a small crimple on the merrick logo on the bottom of the board near the top (pictured below). It was leaned against a corner in my house and the pressure put a small (half a dime) crimp into the board that has been patched over and sanded down cleanly. Board has never had any water in it and is fully sealed. This is a minor cosmetic fix and won’t affect performance, flex or longevity of the board. Thus the reason I say the board is near new. You really have to see it in person to appreciate it. I have pulled boards off the rack in shops that aren't this clean. Blindingly pearly white, zero spidering, no pressure dents, no nicks or tiny chips. If I was able to use this board more and had less in my quiver I wouldn't be selling it. Bought the board on a impulse so my lost your gain.
Well if you are ready to hop up and pummel Lance Burkhart in the pipeline classic or maybe just shred gnar and knock over banks with Bodhi and the rest of president steez crew, this board is for you. Or if you just want a solid board that rips and can handle a large variety of waves then stop on by pick her up and go lay down some soul arches in this winter swell. You are not going to find a board in better condition at this price anywhere. I have already gone through CL to check and most items in “NEW” or “GREAT” condition are shams compared to this. So why lay down hundreds of dollars more to buy from a shop when you can pick it up way cheaper and thus contribute to my electric bill?
Hit me up and I can email you pics if you want.
