Michael Walter (Uncle Mike), founder, designer and shaper of U.M. Surfboards, Sugar Mill Surfboards and Sugar Mill Glassing and contributing shaper of Super Surfboards resigned June 20th from U.M. Surfboards, Inc. and Super Surfboards, Inc. Michael is bringing with him his personal designs and shapes and will continue his passion of stoking surfers under a new label and is looking forward to getting back to the heart and soul of the surf business. Customers and team riders can now reach him at (760) 721-7346.

From my understanding, the “other” business partner involved swept the company out from under… well, in a nutshell anyways. That's unfortunate, Mike's a great guy.
