Kustom Air Strike has reached the mid way point in its inaugural world wide aerial contest.  In short, Kustom’s mission is to produce surfing so inspired and revolutionary that it breaks all the rules and forever changes the face of surfing as we know it. So, in 2008 Kustom is going “all in”, putting USD $50,000 on the line in the world’s richest ever aerial surfing event.

The current entries have proven that the event is motivating and frothing aerialists of all kinds to bring their best to the table. Below is a clip submitted by Mitch Coleborn at HT’s in the Mentawai islands. For those of you lucky cats who have surfed this barreling right before, Kustom is sure that one of the last thoughts on your mind was doing a backside inverted flip and landing it  in the lip. Maybe from the comfort of your boat with a cold Bintang in hand you dreamed of doing this, but to grab the bull by the horns and attempt such a thing is just crazy! Mitch has proved to be that guy so far.
