LAKEWOOD, NJ., (December 15, 2008) - ERGO is proud to announce that 16-year-old, Puerto Rican standout, Hector Santa Maria, has joined its already stacked surf team and will be laced in ERGO for the 2009 season.
 
Santa Maria is the hottest talent coming out of Puerto Rico since the Toth brothers and Dylan Graves.  With a strong amateur career under his belt thus far, his accolades include a finals birth in the prestigious Professional Association of Surfing of Puerto Rico (APSPR) Corona Pro Series last year and showing up all over Mundo Rad and Fuel TV. 
 
“Hector’s raw, creative riding style and eager, hell-bent attitude makes him a perfect fit for our team,” says ERGO Vice President, Pete DiSpirito. “He’s young and possesses the technical abilities and seeming ease of performance that does not come naturally to some of the older, more experienced guys he competes with.”
 
This year, Santa Maria will be competing in the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Jr. Pro series with aspirations to qualify for the ASP World Jr. Championships in Australia.
