The 4th Annual Golden Glove winter surf contest is set to be held on Saturday, February 28th in Ocean City, NJ.   Presented by West Wetsuits and hosted by Christian Surfing Federation of Ocean City. This event is for the core surfers in New Jersey and surrounding states.  It is held in the middle of winter to see who can out shred and out last in the elements.  CSF will provide heated tents to keep the competitors warm as well as hot drinks.   An Award Ceremony will be held in town immediately following the event which includes a hot dinner, live music, tons of prizes and much more.  “The Golden Glove is one of the best events in NJ.  The contest is run well and the trophies are always sick,” says last years 16 and Up winner Chris Kelly.

The “Golden Glove” name came from the idea of turning old wetsuit gloves into golden trophies. “Four years ago we came up with the idea and decided to give it a shot.  We had a huge turn out and surfers from Rhode Island to North Carolina came to compete in the event. So we’ve kept it going and are excited for this year.” says Denis Weiler CSF Director. “Every year the event seems to get better and we’re praying God will bless us with another good swell.”

Golden Glove divisions are; 15 & Under, 16 & Up, Women all ages, and Open Longboard.  Entry Fee is $20 for pre-registered competitors and $25 on the day of the contest.  Contest will start at 8am and will be held at 1st Street Beach in Ocean City, NJ.
