The final showdown with Hurricane Bill. Images like the ones in the above gallery are why people got so damn excited over Bill. Everyone knew there was potential, but there’s so many options, so many factors, and so many nooks to be explored in such a short window that Hurricane Bill might not have lived up to the hype for everyone. Our previous galleries were Outer Banks and Florida heavy, so we wanted to finish things off with Bill by showing you what the rest of the Atlantic was doing.

We sent our top staff photographer Brian Bielmann to Rhode Island with Ian Walsh and Benji Weatherly—yes, Brian is from Hawaii and we sent him to Rhode Island. That right there sums up the frenzy that was Hurricane Bill. The Long Island Coast Guard wanted in on the fun and Shea Lopez let us in on his little secret somewhere in the Atlantic. And of course we couldn’t leave out my favorite state on the East Coast, New Jersey.

So enjoy the final helping and stay tuned to transworldsurf.com for full fall coverage as we keep our finger on the pulse of the 2009 Atlantic Hurricane season. Check back soon for a full user gallery of YOUR best images as well.

Why dont you a**holes try publishing photo of guys that actually LIVE in the places youre shooting? Theres plenty of pros around Jersey that should be in this feature. Thats just lame.

  • Evan Says:

Cormican ruled for sure! He punted bigger than CJ, got way more coverage and generally just ripped the crap out of his homebreak… plus sebastian inlet was horrible compared to other spots in FL so CJ never had a chance. Send me the goods!

Andy Irons in NJ. He was stoked on some fun rip able Jersey Juice. As well as Laird Hamilton. They both were ripping and were amping on the Sea Paddle in NY the following day.

  • Shredder Says:

The Session the had in Sea Girt was so sick.

  • neilschumejda Says:

the picture of the coast gaurd cutter were great those guys that morning made our session.we charged out there that morning it was our first time to tow this spot. All of us were amping when we left the inlet the cutters were there charging out to the same spot.It was relieving site to see our countries finest in front of us the whole time out.when we arrived they sat back and watched us play we had seen a few bombs come threw but the swell was dropping so fast with the tide we were going for everything the cutters started amping and driving straight into these waves.the view we had on the ski was inspiring by the time we were out of fuel, the swell had dropped and we were stoked just to be apart of that swell and the energy it possesed. That morning Mirabai James and Kurt Rist surfed really well .along with the USCoastGaurd…give thanks and praise

  • Anonymous Says:

Irons was straight killing it…..but the wave of the day for sure goes to Scotty Duerr at the Manasquan Inlet. The guy charges it and has held down that spot for so freakin long. But definately stoked to surf with Andy Irons two days in a row.

  • Right Coast Says:

Dude you are so witty!!!! Whats with the hatred towards New Jersey water? I would love for you to go tell that to some of the guys who surf there all year long….you would get stretched out. and yes you are a Dbag.

    Chris

  • Tommy Says:

the person who ripped the hardest was Benny B. It was not during the Bill swell though. It was during the swell on Sat the 29th of August from Tropical Storm Danny at S-turns in Rodanthe, NC. 99% of the people in the water could not make the drop in because the bottom was just falling out of the wave. He was getting the deepest barrels I have seen in a long time. There were over a dozen pros in the water at that one spot so competition was tuff but Benny B was no doubt the stand out of that day. There were plenty of photographers on the beach so I am sure you will see what i am talking about

  • townboi Says:

    who’s benny b?

  • Really? Says:

???This is lame. “Youtube” this crap and leave it there. I thought this was surf website. I’m sure the pros (Mendia, AI, and Hammer) are not exactly “stoked” with the footage either.
