Opening Day In SoCal

The first significant west swell of the season struck SoCal late last week. While the straight west direction was ideal for many spots, the short interval made it a bit wobbly and not quite perfect. However, if we keep waking up to overhead peaks and El Nino like warm water, this could be a Fall to remember!

Surfs been crappy pretty much since the end of last winter except for a few exceptions ..so a few head high (I’m 6′4″) are pretty nice..I don’t mind the blog the pics the reports etc I give em a glance during a sandwich before I headout again second surf of the day…simple

Granted it wasn't epic by any means. It was just about 2X overhead first thing in the AM though. That doesn't get you excited?

sure. I know you guys need content as well… but Opening Day? Maybe it was given the terrible summer we had. Just seems weak when you consider other places get waves like this all the time. When did so cal become so wussified that we go nuts over a short-lived swell that barely gets into board-breaking range?
