Join us for the 2nd Tijuana River Valley Cleanup in the County Regional Park in South San Diego!  This is TRCC’s big event and we’re hoping to get as many volunteers as possible.

When: Saturday, June 6 9am-12pm.

Where: Tijuana River Valley County Regional Park-Equestrian Staging Area

Bring: good shoes, long pants, and sunscreen. If you would like to participate in trail restoration, please bring shovels, wheelbarrows, and any other hand tools you have.

Directions:

Take 5 South

Exit 2 Coronado Avenue

Stay straight to go onto Hollister Street Park at the Equestrian Staging Area End at: 1Ž2 mile west of 2310 Hollister Street, San Diego, CA.

Why: Storm water flows into the Tijuana River carry tons of trash and pollutants into the Tijuana River Valley Regional Park and local beaches.

Years of accumulated trash have prevented South San Diego residents from utilizing many of our trails for recreational purposes such as walking, horse-back riding, bicycling, and hiking. The trash and contamination are a serious environmental, public health, and economic threat to South San Diego, so it is a great time to get together as a community and clean and restore them for healthy use.

The event is being supported by the Tijuana River Citizens’ Council, WiLDCOAST, Surfrider San Diego, Tijuana River Valley Equestrian Association, REI, Patagonia, and Allied Waste.
