Lindsay Rose, a 15-year-old surfer who was found unconscious in the water at Sands Beach last week, died Sunday at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
Rose, a Dos Pueblos High sophomore, was discovered by other surfers face down in the water around 5:15 p.m. April 1 at Sands Beach near Devereux Slough. Paramedics were called to the scene and performed CPR and defibrillation, according to eyewitness accounts.
She was transported to Cottage Hospital where she was reportedly breathing on her own. Doctors put her in a drug-induced coma to help her recuperate, but she died Sunday afternoon.

R.i.p. I will miss you do much I would always remeber you and your sweet love you gave to everyone around you it’s really sad to see you leave your family and friends. Telling you tips on soccer was so amazing cause u told me you tried them a d you wernt going to give up and u got the moves down proud of you ..atleast you left to heaven doing what you loved surfing. I promised to always love you and care about you I will never for get you Lindsay the way you said my name. ” jessssiiiee” am going to miss that so much my hopes and prayers for you always and forever. Ive known her since preschool so we grew up together she always was the envy of most girls in school which was a great thing to accomplish. right now i cant say much because im still in total shock i can only wish don and linda the best =[ REST IN PARADISE LINDSAY!!!!! P.s. Shes A Freshman…

Wow, I had a few classes with this girl. I was pretty shocked to hear this. I wish her family the best.
