“Surfboards In The Sand” A Huge Success In HB

On Saturday morning a new surfing tradition made its way to the beach on the north side of Huntington Beach Pier called “Surfboards In The Sand”. The event had surfers from all over Orange County and beyond bringing their shred sticks and simply sticking them in the sand to commemorate the surf culture of Huntington Beach, as well as to protect our oceanic and coastal environments. Never before had so many surfers been in one place at one time showing off their surfboards and posed for a giant group photo. Sponsored by Rip Curl, TransWorld SURF, and the Huntington Beach Marketing and Visitors Bureau, the goal of Surfboards in The Sand was to promote awareness for sustaining the coastal environment with a portion of the event proceeds contributed to the Surfrider Foundation and Orange County Coastkeeper organizations in support of their service to the ocean and beaches of Southern California. Lucky attendees also were treated to a concert afterward that included Tom Curren among others. The event was a huge success and everyone’s looking forward to topping this year’s turnout with an even bigger amount of ripsticks in the sand.—Aaron Checkwood

My power had gone out during an update, and when It came back I had gotten a debugger Panic thing, Ive read some about it. Anyway, I couldnt get past the restart message it would keep giving me, so I popped in the mac os discs and did a reinstall. Now, flash isnt working in Safari, Itunes doesnt start up (says it was created by a later version). How do I get my compy to full health again?

Zesty Corn Chowder Recipe
4 tbsp. butter
1 cup onion, chopped
1/2 cup red bell pepper, chopped
3 cans (10 3/4 oz.) cream of celery soup
4 cups corn kernels
4 cups milk
1/4 cup green chiles, chopped
1/4 tsp. white pepper
In stockpot, melt butter on medium high heat. Cook onion and bell pepper 5 minutes or until tender, stirring constantly. Reduce to medium heat.
Stir in soups. Add corn; mix well. Slowly add milk; mix well. Stir in green chiles and white pepper.
Simmer 20 minutes, stirring frequently.
Serves 12
Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Cook Time: 20 Minutes
Total Time: 40 Minutes
Our cook’s touch: We may also add some fennel grains in order to bring up the aniseed taste of this dish.
