HOSSEGOR, France (Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008) – Round 1 of the Quiksilver Pro France will commence at the back-up site of Les Estagnots in Seignosse at 8:15 a.m. today. The first heat in the water is local surfer Jeremy Flores versus Ben Dunn (AUS) and Leonardo Neves (BRA).

ASP World No. 1 Kelly Slater will surf against California’s Chris Ward and French wildcard Joan Duru in Heat 8. Slater was eliminated by a wildcard in the Quiksilver Pro France last year and will be looking to avoid that this year if he hopes to claim his ninth ASP World Title in France.
