HOSSEGOR, France (Monday, Sept. 22, 2008) – Round 3 of the Quiksilver Pro France has been called off for the day. Event officials are confident that larger, more consistent conditions will arrive tomorrow.

When Round 3 does resume, rookies Dane Reynolds (USA) and Jordy Smith (ZAF) will go head to head in Heat 10. They met in Round 3 at Teahupoo, Tahiti this year, with victory going to Reynolds.

Heats 8, 9, and 13 will also be of particular interest. All eyes are on ratings leader Kelly Slater (USA), World No. 2 Taj Burrow (AUS), and World No. 3 Bede Durbidge to see whether or not Slater will claim his ninth ASP World Title in France. Slater must win the event with Burrow bowing out before the semis and Durbidge not factoring into the final to win in France.
