In the mid 1990s, surf movies were plagued by gay punk music, lame skits, and a stale, sectional format. The Tear Devils Trilogy attacked the mainstream with monsters, sharpshooters and heavy metal. And yes, that is TransWorld SURF’s Chris Cote in the beginning of the trailer. He’s grown up so much. Aren’t you going to take Ozzy Osbourne’s opinion of Tear Devils as the best surf movies of all time?
The New York Surf Film Festival has asked director Jesse Schluntz to screen a “best of” version of the Tear Devils Trilogy.
