After losing out to Drew Courtney in round two of the Billabong Pro Mundaka, Joel Parkinson has relinquished his ASP World Tour ratings lead to his good mate and fellow Aussie Mick Fanning. Having a rough go of late, Parko seems to be struggling with a lingering ankle injury that he suffered while in Bali. While throwaway results have yet to be figured in, it’s pretty apparent that the 2009 ASP World Title is going to be won—and lost—at the season ending Billabong Pipeline Masters.
