After eight years together, Roxy and Carissa Moore will be parting ways. The split is mutual and amicable and Roxy wishes only the best for the young promising surfer.

“Carissa Moore has grown up with the Roxy brand and will forever be part of our history,” says Randy Hild, Executive Vice President of Roxy. “We regret losing Carissa but understand that the process of growing up means taking different journeys. We are grateful for all she has given to our brand and couldn’t be prouder.” Director of Sports Marketing, Danielle Beck adds, “Carissa will always be part of the Roxy family.”

The sixteen-year-old will be pursuing other opportunities and will continue to surf competitively. The Roxy surf team will continue to retain world champion Sofia Mulanovich, currently in a close race for 1st on the WCT as well as Megan Abubo and Sally Fitzgibbons. Longboarders include long-time Roxy Rider Kassia Meador, as well as world champion Jen Smith and newcomers Kelia Moniz and Rachel Evan Spears. Four-time world champion Lisa Andersen continues her role as ambassador of the brand.

“We believe Roxy has the best surf team out there right now and we will remain true to our philosophy to nurture and seek out the best talents in the waves,” states Danielle Beck.

  • You gotta pay to play Says:

good job roxy, lose your most recognizable face and name. a girl this exciting and talented doesn’t come around too often and i’m sure you’ll be kicking yourselves when you realize that she is well worth whatever she asked for. i guess it’s bound to happen though the whole quicksilver thing’s based off of Kelly Slater. you guys probably couldn’t wrap your heads around the idea of paying a woman substantially. she’ll go ride for a company with a real team, like Billabong. keep it up Carissa!!!

  • Huge Carissa Fan! Says:
