Congratulations to the elegant 21-year-old Elizabeth Harney from Seaside Park, New Jersey. Liz’s down-to-earth charm and wholesome beauty rose to the top of the talent pile that was the September Model Search. She beat out some of the best rigs we’ve seen in any one month and took top honors in the most viewed Model Search to date (169k+ as of today). For her prize, Liz will be awarded a swimsuit of her choice from B Swim, a pair of shades courtesy Spy Optics, and a chance at the ultimate prize—being crowned Miss TransWorld SURF 2010.

Hometown: Seaside Park, New Jersey
Occupation: I work at a surf/skate shop and also as an Art Model at a local college.

TW SURF: You mentioned you’re going to school, what are you studying?
Liz: Visual Art is my biggest passion in life. I am going to school to further my skills in Art and get a teaching degree so I can teach the love of art to high school kids in low-income areas.

How was your first summer being 21 at the shore?
My first summer being 21 in Seaside has been so much fun! My favorite memory of the summer was riding my bike home in the rain after a long night of fun on the boardwalk.

Worst thing about the shoobies in the summer?
Gotta be the traffic and crowds. I have to get to the beach really early to beat the swarms of people that come flooding in later on.

There were so many beautiful women competing this month and I feel so honored to have been chosen. It’s good to know that the all natural look is still sexy in a world where plastic surgery is becoming the norm.

Favorite pro surfer and why?
My Favorite pro surfer is Keala Kennelly. She is an awesome role model for female surfers and women in general. I admire her drive to fight for equality in women’s surfing, and her courage when charging the big waves.

Favorite place to get a slice of pizza?
J&G’s right off exit 91 on the Garden State Parkway. They make the best veggie pizza I have ever had!

Favorite Sopranos character and why?
Is it wrong that I live in NJ and have never watched the Sopranos? haha

How do you keep that body in such incredible shape?
I take care of it with love and kindness and don’t spend time worrying about the way it looks. I hate the gym so I get exercise by being active outdoors and doing yoga. I never diet but always eat healthy and listen to my body’s needs.

What made you want to enter the Model Search?
I entered the Model Search because the friend who photographed me convinced me that I should put my pictures out in the world to try and gain recognition.

How’s it feel to come out on top of the most viewed TW SURF Model Search of all time?
It feels great to be your Miss September. I did not believe it when I was notified that I had won. There were so many beautiful women competing this month and I feel so honored to have been chosen. It’s good to know that the all natural look is still sexy in a world where plastic surgery is becoming the norm.

The million-dollar question everyone wants to know: Do you have a boyfriend?
Yes, I do, haha.
