Exciting surf experiences for boys and girls ages 6 to 17. Your child will be met each morning by their own Ohana Surf Camp instructor. In addition to our professional staff, two Galveston Beach Patrol lifeguards are on duty at the 27th and 29th street jetties from 9am until the end of camp. Each week your child will receive instruction in ocean safety and surf etiquette. The mornings will begin with light stretching and warm-up’s; the proper approach to learn to surf. In addition, on the beach through a partnership with Galveston’s Moody Gardens, your child will learn about marine sciences and how to preserve our oceans. Your child will also learn marine biology, coastal ecology, beach profiles, wave generation and how tides occur. Thursday afternoons are reserved for parents, so you are welcome to join us and learn from the instructors on how to teach your child. Lastly, Lance Gandy and Bill Hill of Lance Gandy Photography will be on hand to take scheduled camp, group and action photos as requested.
