December 5, 2008: - - The 2008 World Qualifiying Series season came to a close yesterday with the conclusion of The O’Neill World Cup of Surfing 6 star prime event, and CJ Hobgood taking the victory. The 2008 ratings are now complete, nailbiting and speculation is over (excpt for Marlon Lipke).
The following WQS surfers have all qualified for the 2009 World Tour (WT):

Marlon Lipke may qualify for the 2009 World Tour if Taigo makes the Dream Tour top 27, in which case then Marlon is in !

Marlon should have did one more turn on his last wave at Sunset instead of gunning for the shoulder. He would have gotten the 4 he needed and advanced.
