Dusty Payne And Friends Rip Haleiwa For A Good Cause

Recently at Haleiwa’s Ali’i Beach Park, Dusty Payne partnered with JDRF Hawaii to provide a fun day at the beach for several local children with Type-1 diabetes. Dusty, who lives with type 1 diabetes, was joined by friends Mitch Coleborn, Zeke Lau, Dave Wassel, Joel Centeio, Torrey Meister, Fred Patacchia, and Hank Gaskell to spend the day with the kids. Everyone got to compete in some fun beach games and then the kids learned how to surf with some of the top professional surfers in the world. It was a perfect day at Haleiwa and everyone had a great time. After surfing, a great lunch was provided for everyone courtesy of Pupukea Grill. All of the groms walked away with huge smiles and a bunch of new heroes! Said Dusty, “I was really excited to share the day with a bunch of my friends and invite all of these kids out for a day at the beach to experience all of the things that make me happy. It was great to be able to show them that no matter the obstacle or setback, you can accomplish anything in life that you put your mind to.”

Special thanks to the following people who helped make the day a success:
Volcom
Nixon
Vertra
Pupukea Grill
Uncle Bryan’s surf school
Waiola Coconut water
