Party Raises Over $5,000 For Barney Miller Movie No Means Go

Last night’s soiree at Fish 101 in Leucadia, CA. raised over $5100 for the upcoming Barney Miller movie, No Means Go. Thanks to all of the event sponsors for their generosity, especially Fish 101 for hosting the fun event that shattered our hopes of raising $2,000. Over a hundred people, including pro surfers Josh Kerr, Taylor Knox, Jordy Smith, and Ricky Whitlock showed their support and threw down on the raffle and donation table.

Barney who? 14-years ago, up and coming Australian surfer Barney Miller was paralyzed following a car accident. Doctors told him he’d never walk again and he’d need the help of a machine to breathe. Surfing was out of the question.

But Barney wouldn’t listen and today has proved the cynics wrong as he’s literally taking huge steps toward his dream of walking down the aisle with his fiancée, Kate. As for surfing, we’ve been ripping Cardiff Reef every Saturday for the bulk of the summer! Barney’s an inspiring character and Trinity Films is doing a movie on his story and hopefully these funds will make for a great final project.
