I’d have to say the best party I went to was The Brixton/Filter Magazine “Crashing the Capital” day party featuring Papa, Nobunny, Natural Child, and one of the greatest bands ever, Thee Oh Sees. The Brixton crew did it right with a gifting suite (free awesome clothes) and an open bar (free Lone Star!). This is where endurance started to became necessity.
SXSW Tried To Kill Me!
Sector 9 and TransWorld SURF team up to tackle the SXSW Music Conference
Let’s put every good band on Earth in one small Texas town, supply this town with enough beer and music gear to last 27 years, start the party every day at 10:00 a.m. and end it at 3:00 a.m.—what’s the worst that could happen? Well, I’ll tell you one thing, my head and body may be slightly worse for the wear from my trip to SXSW, but my soul and music loving heart is still over the moon with stoke from three days and three nights of pure rock and roll living. This was my third year at SXSW and every year I learn a little bit more about how to do the festival right. One thing I haven’t learned is how to do is pace myself. Anyway, let’s talk about some music and let me take you on a little trip down memory lane of my three days at SXSW, I remember most of it, and here it is.—Chris Coté
