New Smyrna Beach Surf Film Festival March 22-24
New Smyrna Beach, FL. – March 18th, 2013 – With only 5 days until New Smyrna Beach, Florida screens its first Surf Film Fest, the buzz is all over the East Coast sunshine state.
Film maker Mike Clancy, formerly of New Smyrna, and now of Santa Cruz California, will be appearing on both Friday night at the screening of his film “COSTA RICA CALLING”, and at the SPECIAL PRESENTATION OF THE FIRST NEW SMYRNA BEACH SURFING LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD ON SUNDAY prior to the Premiere screening of local Film Maker, Artist and Photographers Kem Mcnair’s Film, “NO HODADS ALLOWED”.
Producer, Joel Paige, long time local and surfer of New Smyrna Beach had the inspiration and vision to create this new Festival. Paige enlisted the help of Curator Keiko Beatie, who works with surf festivals world wide and together they have assembled a wide variety of award winning surf films, and also some amazing trailers of soon to be released films including the new film by award winning cinematographer Jack McCoy, “DEEPER SHADE OF BLUE”. Also women’s surf films, Mavericks footage, and special guests will be presented during this exciting premiere for New Smyrna Beach.
The New Smyrna Beach Surf Film Festival runs Friday, March 22nd to Sunday, March 24th, at the New Smyrna Beach Civic Center on Flagler Avenue, Tickets will be available at the door. Show begins 6pm Friday and Saturday and starts at 3pm on Sunday.
