The northeast is a tough place to be a surfer. It's cold, there are massive tides and spots are very susceptible to change with a few degrees difference in swell direction. If you know where to be though, you can have waves like this to yourself.


Canadian pro surfer Nico Manos has spent his life scouring the nooks and crannies of eastern Canada in search of perfect surf. And while the area can kill your spirit with flat spells, bitter cold, and extreme tides, if you know where to be and when—like Nico does—amazing surf can be found especially during hurricane season. Here’s a look at what Nico came across during the 2-12 ‘cane season. Not bad, eh?
