There are parts of this coast that see 53ft tides. You could spend a lifetime figuring out where you should be…and if you did, you might find yourself here at slack tide, with just enough water over the reef for an hour of top-to-bottom lefts.

Canadian pro surfer Nico Manos has spent his life scouring the nooks and crannies of eastern Canada in search of perfect surf. And while the area can kill your spirit with flat spells, bitter cold, and extreme tides, if you know where to be and when—like Nico does—amazing surf can be found especially during hurricane season. Here’s a look at what Nico came across during the 2-12 ‘cane season. Not bad, eh?
