Hailing from a family of Hawaiian surfers, Kelia “Sister” Moniz grew up surfing with four brothers and dad, Tony—a top pro in the 80s. Being the only girl (besides her mom) Kelia grew thick skin and has always considered herself one of the boys. Her upbringing also paved her way to a 2012 ASP Women’s Longboard World Championship, a feat she recently accomplished after winning the Swatch Girls Pro China. As pretty as the island she grew up, good luck getting past Kelia’s four brothers, Seth, Isaiah, Joshua, and Micah (who are all great surfers in their own right). With her Hawaiian style and superior surfing genes, look for more World Titles in Kelia’s future.
