SD Beaches Closed After TJ Sewage Spill

TJ Sewage Spill

As surfers and lovers of the ocean, this is a waking nightmare. More than 1 million gallons of raw sewage have been spilling into the ocean near the U.S.-Mexico border since Monday, causing San Diego County beaches to close. Not only would that smell be unbearable but just think of the havoc this is reeking on the local ecosystems, as well as the untold health risks of anyone near the contaminated water. It’s unclear as of now to why the spill occurred, but aging infrastructure was been blamed in the past. All I know is Mother Earth and ocean-lovers everywhere are shaking their heads in disappointment. –Amanda Martinek
