Kai Lenny Wins SUP World Title

Kai Lenny Is Crowned 2011 World Champion

19-year old Kai Lenny secures his 2nd World Title here at the Hawaii Island Finals with an impressive and dominant performance that saw his 4 counting results as 2 firsts and 2 seconds. His discards were a 3rd and a 4th, meaning that he was in every single final this year and has only missed out on one final since the Stand Up World Tour’s inception.

Kody Kerbox finishes off an incredible year with a semi finals finish here at the Hawaii Island Finals, moving him up to 8th place overall for 2011. After doing the Trials at Sunset and then winning the Trials in France, Kody went onto post a string of consistently good results to move him up the rankings and position him as a serious contender as we look ahead to 2012. Father, Stand Up World Tour Judge and legend Buzzy Kerbox must be very proud, as he steps out of the judging booth to watch his son’s heats. Congratulations go out to Kody.

The Tahitians continue to stand strong on Tour
Finishing in 10th, Patuariitea Laux leads a solid field of Tahitian competitors, from legend Arsene Harehoe and Sapinus boy Guillaume Bourligueux to Serge Carabasse and Patrice Chanzy. Patu had a great second half of the year, posting consistent results and putting on great performances, particularly in the beach breaks. Maururu to all the Tahitians on Tour, traveling around the world on the Surfers’ Airline and Stand Up World Tour Official Airline for 2011, Air Tahiti Nui, proudly representing the beautiful islands they call home.
