The End Of The Road” Blog From Teahupo‘o: Day 3
All anyone can talk about down here is the mega-swell that is headed straight for Tahiti. Rumors are flying (66-foot seas!) and preparations are being made. Who’s got tow ropes? Who’s got a ski? What’s gonna happen when the channel suddenly shrinks under the heavy hand of 20-foot Teahupo‘o? We shall see…

I just got word that the one and only Bruce Irons is in the Billabong Pro Tahiti…well sort of. There’s going to be an expression session with Bruce and friends that is meant to honor his brother and 2010 Billabong Pro Tahiti Champion Andy Irons. The expression session will be held in between the semis and the finals. Props to the ASP and Billabong for doing the right thing and honoring the best surfer to ever challenge Teahupo‘o.
I interviewed my buddy Biff yesterday, too. Biff is a classic character and in the video above you’ll hear his story from Small Pass the other day. Biff is lucky to have a hand…but his brand new board is pretty much shot. I’d hang it on the wall; it’s a great conversation piece. That’s about it for now, I gotta get a surf in before the shit hits the fan!—Justin Cote
