By any and all accounts, the final day of the 2011 Billabong Pro Tahiti was nothing less than epic. Photo: Bielmann/SPL

Kelly Slater Wins The Billabong Pro Tahiti

We’ve run out of words to describe Kelly Slater’s dominance of professional surfing so just check the photos and watch the interviews from the channel today and add you own comments. I know it sounds like a cop out (it is and I have Hinano’s to drink with the boys), but seriously, what do you want to hear? How he used heat smarts and tactics to rattle his fellow competitors? How he rushed 8-10 foot Teahupo‘o on a 5’9”? That he’s in better shape than anyone on tour despite the fact that he’s pushing the big 4-0? There’s nothing new to report, Kelly is simply the most dominant surfer ever. Period.

That’s it, game over. I hope it’s not too late to trademark the phrase “Ke11y Slater.”—Justin Coté
