TransWorld SURF Launches iPad App For The Official Nike US Open Of Surfing Program
Carlsbad, CA – Now available on iTunes, TransWorld SURF, a leader in surfing media, has launched the Nike US Open of Surfing Official Program application, exclusively for iPad users. This year’s Nike US Open of Surfing event is expected to bring in over 500,000 spectators, showcasing the best in surf, skate, BMX, music, fashion, and art.
As the official media partner, TransWorld SURF produced the event’s program, providing over 30 pages of schedules and information, that will be distributed onsite in Huntington Beach, California. The program will be included in TransWorld SURF’s September 2011 issue, and also available digitally on the iPad.
“It makes sense to take the program and turn it digital,” said TransWorld SURF Publisher Charlie Anderson. “It’s simple. The goal is to enable a larger segment of people to access the program that was once only available in a print version.”
Shortly following the release of this application, TransWorld SURF will launch its Mag+ iPad edition, a surf media exclusive, stand-alone iPad application, providing a more flexible, two-layered layout of editorial content including audio and video that will give readers a truly unique user experience. In partnership with GoPro, TransWorld SURF will be celebrating this iPad application launch on the beach in Huntington during the US Open, allowing all attendees of the event an opportunity to experience and operate the application hands on with iPads provided at the booth.
