HIGH-FLYING ACTION FROM THE ALT GAMES RETURNS TO CBS SPORTS

Coverage Highlighted by Skateboarding, Flowboarding, Wakeboarding,
Ultimate, Surfing and Beach Volleyball

The Alt Games, an event showcasing numerous college action sports championships, returns to CBS Sports and CBS Sports Network, highlighted by a special one-hour CBS Sports Spectacular on Saturday, June 25 (2:00-3:00 PM, ET). The Alt Games coverage kicks off on CBS Sports Network on Friday, June 24 (7:00-10:00 PM, ET). Action returns to CBS Sports Network following the CBS Sports show with 10 hours of extensive programming on Saturday, June 25 (3:00-8:00 PM, ET) and Sunday, June 26 (3:00-8:00 PM, ET).

The CBS Sports show features the most compelling action from the 2011 Alt Games, highlighting top performances from 20 college championships across numerous sports: skateboarding, wakeboarding, flowboarding, beach volleyball, ultimate and surfing. Jonny Moseley, the 1998 Winter Olympic gold medalist in freestyle skiing, and Todd Harris host the Championship event coverage for CBS Sports and CBS Sports Network.

The NSSA College Surfing Championships are featured for the first time as part of CBS Sports Network’s coverage of The Alt Games. The College Skateboarding Championships highlights action from the event that saw a record number of competitors this year, while the USA Ultimate College Championships features 300 teams from colleges and universities across the nation including Wisconsin, Colorado, Michigan, Oregon, Washington, UC-Santa Barbara and Carleton College. Additionally, the Flowboarding Championships feature 18-year-old prodigy Eric Silverman and his signature “wall back flip” competing against an international field.

More than 1,300 competitors from over 100 colleges and universities nationwide competed at the 2011 Alt Games, which crowns 20 national men’s and women’s champions in both individual and team events. The competitions were held in Copper Mountain, Colo. (April 16), San Diego, Calif. (May 13-15), Boulder, Colo. (May 29-30) and Dana Point, Calif. (June 18).
