This dude came from Imperial Beach to participate in the Ponto Jetty beach clean. You'd think he'd stay down south to help with that area but apparently nobody was giving away prizes for picking up the most trash.

In celebration of International Surf Day, the good folks at Spy Optic got together with TransWorld SURF, Chemistry Surfboards, the Surfrider Foundation, DC, Sun Diego, Bull Taco, Pro Lite, and Monster Energy for a beach clean up at Ponto Jetty in Carlsbad, CA. The beach is generally pretty clean but we managed to fill bag after bag of trash before a rip session of epic proportions went down. I didn’t see it but apparently Chris Abad from Chemistry did some huge Clay Marzo-like air that won the heat for him. While it’s great to have a day that recognizes the fact that we need clean beaches and water, we need to keep up the fight against trash and pick it up every single visit to our beaches and ocean.
