Red Bull ‘Minor Threat’ Mentawai Boat Trip: Dispatch #2

The Red Bull surf team has been out in the Mentawais aboard the Indies Trader IV for a few days now and while we haven’t actually spoken to them, we are getting sporadic emails with photographic updates. So far it looks like the waves have been kinda slow, and reports indicated that the wind was out of the north, which is less than ideal for the area. They’ve been making do by shooting flash photos in the evening and playing some spirited games of backgammon. However, as of today it looks as though there’s some surf out there and hardly any wind. Hopefully we’ll be able to get some ripping action shots up here soon—this SUPing and fishing shit can only last so long!
