Sponsor Me and the ASP are holding off for now, as a big swell is forecasted in the coming days. The 2011 Sponsor Me Sunset Open will feature over 110 of the hottest surfers in the world, and will be distributed live in HD via Time Warner Oceanic cable, on the internet at sponsorme.com, and on mobile devices including Apple’s iPad and iPhone.

The Sponsor Me Sunset Open is a one star ASP Pro-Am Surf Contest offering a $10,000 prize purse. As if $10,000 is not enough motivation to surf at one of the most beautiful surf spots in the world. The contest also allows surfers to qualify for the coveted $1 million Vans Triple Crown of Surfing Series. Big name pro surfers such as Sponsor Me’s own Makua Rothman, Sunny Garcia, and up and comer Billy Kemper, as well as other pros to the likes of Poncho Sullivan, Jason Shibata, Jamie O’Brien, and defending champ Myles Padaca make up the field of pro and amateur surfers looking to gain points, ratings, and qualify for the Van’s triple crown of surfing.
