December 15, 2010 (Santa Cruz, CA) – Surftech announces the hiring of longtime Northern California Sales Rep, Mike Bennett as Surf Division National Sales Manager. Mike’s surf industry experience runs deep as he has worked for industry leaders including FCS, Freestyle, Arnette and Oakley in Northern California, Oregon and Washington and will bring this knowledge with him to Surftech. “Being a avid surfer, Bennett will bring his surf and sales background to Surftech and continue to grow our business in these challenging times.” says Surftech founder Randy French.

“I am excited to be working for Surftech,” said Mike. “Growing up windsurfing and surfing, I always admired what Randy has done for surfboard technology. What many people don’t realize is Randy can hand shape as well as anyone and has been working with different types foam and materials since he was a teenager. He is a true pioneer for our sport. There are some exciting projects in the works for 2011 that will again change the way people view surfboard construction and I think our retail partners will be stoked to see them.”

Mike wasted no time after taking over the reins as Surf Division National Sales Manager by the hiring of Stuart Florida local, Teague Taylor as Surftech’s new Florida Surf Sales Rep. “When I found out that we needed a new rep for Florida, Teague was at the top of my list.” said Bennett “He typifies everything that the Surftech Surf Division is all about. He’s been a competitive surfer, surfshop store manager, surf coach and sales rep among other things. Teague is going to be a huge help in growing our surf business in Florida.”

Teague certainly has an impressive list of credentials. From managing Surf Central Surf Shop for the past four years to his success as the Surf Team Captain at the University of Central Florida where he led UCF to an NSSA East Coast Collegiate Team championship as well as winning the NSSA East Coast Collegiate Men’s Championship in the mid 90′s.

Teague and Mike are looking forward to getting the ball rolling at Surf Expo in Orlando in January. “Our timing couldn’t be better” admits Bennett. “We’re coming on board right before the biggest surf tradeshow of the year where we’ll be launching insane new boards from Rusty, Xanadu, Surftech, Channel Islands, Stretch, Takayama and more! We’ll also be welcoming a brand new shaper to the Surftech family and unveiling a new line of boards from him as well!”
