When the ASP released the schedule for the 2011 ASP World Tour, there was a huge surprise sandwiched between the Billabong Pro Tahiti and Hurley Pro at Lower Trestles—a World Tour (formerly the WCT) event on the East Coast of America. Yes, the same East Coast that can be dead flat for weeks on end then morph into some of the best beachbreak tubes on the planet when a hurricane or Noreaster rears its head.

While the schedule is vague (the ASP isn’t saying anything yet) as far as who the sponsor is and where it will be held, our sources tell us that the contest will happen in New York, home to some fine beachbreaks and a few reefs on the northern tip of Long Island. We have a running argument here in the office, most of us wondering why not have the contest on the Outer Banks if you’re going to have one on the East Coast.

Anyway, what do you think? Let us know in the poll or comment box below!
